Wright County Family Dental is Hiring a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Near Clarion, IA

We are looking for a competent dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Set up treatment rooms for procedures by selecting appropriate instruments, equipment, and materials
  • Welcome patients and escort patients in the dental office
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Obtain and review medial and dental health history. Blood pressure will be taken
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry. Anticipate and assist dentist's needs
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Ensure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Give any follow up notes to Doctor
  • Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations
  • Ensure office sterilization procedures document is on display
  • Promptly sent out and monitor all dental laboratory cases
  • Maintain dental office emergency kit
  • Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol
  • Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed
  • Help in other areas of the office when necessary (answering phone, unpacking supplies, etc.)
  • Be an active participant in team meetings and Promote team concepts by interacting with others in the office

  • Proven experience as dental assistant preferred but not mandatory. On the job training dental assistant training can be done with the right individual.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma;
  • Additional certification or training is an asset
  • Commitment to CE for career development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
